1. Not investment advice
OwlScore (operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]) is a publisher of financial information, scores, and research. Nothing on this site, in our emails, or in any output of our tools โ including but not limited to scores, grades, predictions, the track record, the natural-language scanner, the claim-verification tool, or AI-generated research memos โ constitutes:
- personalized investment advice,
- a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security,
- an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security, or
- a suitability determination for any individual's financial situation.
All scores, grades, and predictions are general and impersonal: every user sees the same rating for a given ticker at a given time, generated by the same published methodology, regardless of that user's holdings, goals, or risk tolerance. We do not know, and do not ask for, your portfolio, income, or financial goals, and nothing we publish is adapted to them.
Watchlists, alerts, and saved scans let you filter and organize our generally-published content; they do not change, tailor, or personalize the underlying score or rating.
2. No brokerage, no execution, no promotion
We do not execute trades, hold customer funds or securities, or link to brokerage accounts. We are never paid by, and have no financial interest in, any company whose ticker we score. We do not accept payment for coverage or favorable treatment of any security.
3. Backtested and hypothetical performance
Any performance figures labeled "backtested," "backfilled," or "hypothetical" reflect how our scoring methodology would have performed had it existed and been applied over the stated historical period. These figures:
- do not reflect actual trades, real money, or any user's actual results,
- do not account for trading costs, slippage, taxes, or liquidity constraints,
- were generated using a methodology selected with the benefit of hindsight about that period, and
- are never combined with our live (post-publication) track record into a single number โ the two are always shown separately and labeled with the date live tracking began.
Past performance, whether backtested or live, does not indicate or guarantee future results.
4. Track record and hash-chain ledger
Our public ledger records every prediction we issue, timestamped and hash-chained, and every prediction's graded outcome once its horizon elapses. This is a historical record of what our methodology published and how it performed against a benchmark โ it is not a forecast, guarantee, or representation about future performance. A prediction being open (not yet graded) does not imply any view about its eventual outcome beyond what was published at issuance.
5. Third-party data
Market data, fundamentals, and corporate-actions data are sourced from third-party providers ([Tiingo / Financial Modeling Prep / Alpha Vantage โ fill in current vendor(s)]) and may contain errors, delays, or omissions. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data, though we make reasonable efforts to detect anomalies (see our corporate-actions anomaly detection in docs/PLAN.md ยง4).
6. AI-generated content
Research memos and the natural-language scanner use large language models to summarize publicly available data and our own scores. AI-generated content may contain errors. It is generated from a fixed, disclosed input set (our data and methodology) and is never permitted to conclude with a buy/sell/hold recommendation โ it presents thesis, bull case, bear case, and falsification criteria only.
7. Risk of loss
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Nothing on OwlScore should be construed as a guarantee against loss.
8. Verify-a-Claim tool
The claim-verification tool backtests a pattern extracted from a public statement (e.g., a social media post or article) against historical data. It evaluates the general claim pattern, not any individual's overall track record, credibility, or character, and the assumptions used to translate a natural-language claim into a testable rule are disclosed alongside every result.
